WASHINGTON AND SINGAPORE (17 April 2024) – WERC, the leading global organization dedicated to talent mobility, is excited to announce the strategic establishment of the WERC APAC (Asia-Pacific) Regional Affiliate to deliver on its mission to serve the talent mobility community globally and support the strong growth being witnessed by the market.
Based entirely on feedback from the APAC community on the ground, WERC learned that the region has been underserved. “We are proud to be working with the regional community again to address this demand effectively and enable the exchange of knowledge and best practices within and across global markets,” says WERC President & CEO Anupam Singhal.
Singhal adds, “Establishing WERC APAC is a very important example of the steps we are beginning to take toward realizing WERC’s renewed vision of serving as the global authority and platform for the talent mobility industry around the world. I couldn’t be more thrilled that it is being driven by leaders in the region, for the people, by the people.”
The WERC APAC Regional Affiliate is the first of its kind and is designed to serve as a vital platform offering valuable access to education, networking and mentoring opportunities, industry resources, and integration into the expansive WERC community.
An APAC Advisory Committee, led by two co-chairs and comprised of corporate talent mobility practitioners and service providers, will provide strategic guidance, and collaborate closely with WERC leadership and professional staff to advance a shared mission of empowering talent mobility professionals. Through a robust network of connections, it aims to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among industry peers.
“This is an exciting time for WERC as we continue to innovate and position our organization for future growth. Essential to that growth is engaging key talent mobility markets throughout the world,” says Co-chair Benny Tan, Senior Vice President, Altair Global. “WERC APAC will serve as an important network connecting professionals with and throughout Asia while also connecting them to the larger talent mobility community around the world.” Tan also serves on the WERC board of directors and holds The Global Mobility Specialist, Talent Management (GMS-T®) certification.
One of the key highlights of the WERC APAC Regional Affiliate is its leadership and support for the WERC Regional Summit, a collaborative event scheduled to take place in Singapore on 14-15 May this year. This summit promises enriching sessions, engaging discussions, and valuable networking opportunities for delegates.
In addition to supporting flagship events such as the WERC Regional Summit, the APAC Regional Affiliate will also organize and promote various educational and networking initiatives throughout the year, ensuring continuous engagement, mentoring, and professional development opportunities specifically designed for its members.
Companies and individuals interested in learning more about joining the WERC APAC Regional Affiliate should contact WERC headquarters.
