WERC is making significant strides in fostering corporate engagement and ensuring the voice of the corporate mobility community is at the forefront of its strategic initiatives. Through deliberate investment, innovative programs, and active leadership, WERC has positioned itself as a beacon for collaboration and progress within the talent mobility industry.
Investment in Corporate Engagement
WERC has made strategic investments to ensure its corporate members feel supported, valued, and empowered. One standout initiative is the Talent Mobility Workshop Series, a global series of events designed to provide exclusive opportunities for corporate members to connect, share insights, and collaborate on pressing mobility challenges. These workshops, led by Senior Corporate Ambassador Kerwin Guillermo at the outset, are a core part of WERC’s program portfolio and are aimed at addressing the specific needs of corporate mobility professionals around the world.
“These hands-on and interactive workshops immerse participants in practical exercises and interactive discussions led by experienced facilitators that challenge attendees to think differently about global mobility and turn intentions into actions,” Guillermo says.
Additionally, WERC has waived the corporate registration fee for its flagship event, WERC Global, to make participation more accessible and encourage broader attendance. New this year were corporate breakfasts and immersive lab experiences, which offered corporate attendees unique forums to exchange ideas, engage in deeper discussions, and walk away with actionable insights gathered from each other as well as some of the foremost practitioners and supplier partners in our industry.
Corporate Leadership Steering the Charge
The WERC Board of Directors and Corporate Advisory Council (CAC) exemplify how corporate leaders are driving engagement efforts from the front. Tanya Mariottini, vice chair – corporate on the WERC Board and director of global mobility at eBay, shared the critical role of the CAC in guiding WERC’s activities.
“The CAC is made up of a diverse group of corporate members representing different sized organizations, programs, locations, and subject matter expertise, who spend a minimum of one hour of their time each month sharing their talent and providing input to influence the future direction of WERC,” Mariottini says.
The CAC has provided critical input on several initiatives, including the reimagining of Corporate Roundtables at the Global Workforce Symposium (GWS). These sessions, now completed, were revamped based on CAC feedback and delivered a more impactful experience for attendees.
“This year’s Corporate Roundtables were a turning point,” says Deb Convery, a WERC Board member and CAC leader. “For the first time, corporate participants left the sessions with actionable takeaways, meaningful insights, and an expanded network, thanks to the collaborative efforts of the CAC.”
Actively Seeking Corporate Input
WERC has taken deliberate steps to gather and act on feedback from corporate members. The CAC regularly shares perspectives on strategies, challenges, and industry needs to help shape WERC’s products and services.
Corporate members also participate in multiple committees, including the GWS Planning and Buyer Broker Litigation committees, ensuring their expertise is embedded in WERC’s decision-making processes for the benefit of all stakeholders throughout the broader talent mobility industry.
Reflecting on the foundational impact of these efforts, WERC President and CEO Anupam Singhal reiterated the value of this collaboration: “WERC has created a platform where corporate members can truly shape the future of talent mobility. Whether through the Talent Mobility Workshop Series, committee representation, or leadership as part of the WERC Board of Directors, the organization is ensuring that the corporate experience and perspective, in combination with that of our extensive supplier partner community, is helping chart the course to a brighter future for our industry.”
The Power of Corporate Engagement
WERC’s initiatives are further strengthened by the active involvement and advocacy of its corporate members. As Mariottini says, “Overall, corporate member engagement is being driven by other corporate members’ engagement. There is a lot of word of mouth, and I do my best to champion WERC and share about the great work our industry association is doing every opportunity I have across multiple platforms.”
To maximize their membership benefits, Mariottini encourages corporate members to actively participate: “Volunteer and be involved! You’ll be amazed at the dividends you’ll earn by learning from others, building your network, and using your expertise and voice to make an impact and influence the direction of WERC.”
A Community-Driven Future
WERC’s investments and initiatives demonstrate a clear commitment to strengthening its corporate community and shaping a future where corporate voices are not just heard but are integral to driving the organization’s success.
“WERC is not just listening to corporate members—it’s acting on their feedback to deliver programs and opportunities that address their needs,” Singhal says. “This is the kind of engagement that will propel our industry forward.”
For corporate members, the message is clear: Get involved, lend your expertise, and become a part of the movement that’s redefining the talent mobility landscape.
