How the Mentorship Program Works

What Makes This Program Different?

  • The WERC Momentum Mentorship Program is not a traditional one-on-one mentorship—it’s a dynamic, project-based experience where collaborative learning leads to real-world impact.
  • Instead of one-on-one meetings, participants engage in team-based (POD) mentorship. Working alongside industry leaders, peers, and alumni advisors to tackle the  annual industry theme through hands-on projects.
  • Regular workshops, networking opportunities, and industry guidance provide the tools to develop insights, strategies, and innovative solutions to shape the future of our industry.

How It Works

Participants are grouped into PODs consisting of:

  • Executive mentors (1-2 senior industry leaders providing guidance)
  • Mentees (3-4 emerging professionals developing leadership skills)
  • Advisor (1 mentor in training)
  • Each POD collaborates throughout the program to interpret the annual theme and develop a project that will be presented at the end of the program.
  • Throughout the mentorship, teams participate in structured workshops, develop industry-relevant projects, and receive feedback from experienced professionals.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Mentee (Emerging Professional)
  • Early- to mid-career professionals eager to learn and grow within global mobility.
  • Actively participate in team discussions, project development, and presentations.
  • Gain exposure to industry leaders and expand their professional network.
Mentor (Executive Industry Leader)
  • Senior professionals with extensive experience in talent mobility.
  • Provide strategic guidance, industry insights, and leadership development.
  • Help shape the mentees’ understanding of industry challenges and opportunities.
Advisor (Mentor in training)
  • An experienced professional there to provide support to the team and mentors, typically past program mentees who want to move into a mentor role.
  • Act as a bridge between mentors and mentees, providing operational support.
  • Help guide project execution while helping teams navigate the project development.
