WERC proudly announces the 40 newest recipients of the prestigious Certified Relocation Professional® (CRP®) designation, awarded after the successful completion of the Spring Exam period. (See the full list of recipients at the bottom of this page.) This certification recognizes professionals who demonstrate an in-depth understanding of managing talent mobility within the United States, enhancing their reputation among peers, clients, and organizational leaders.
The CRP designation is the only credential dedicated to acknowledging professionals who excel in employee relocation and mobility. To earn this coveted title, candidates undergo rigorous preparation, drawing on years of work experience, professional society engagement, and studying a defined body of knowledge, culminating in a comprehensive examination. Over 2,000 professionals have earned this certification, distinguishing themselves as experts in the field of talent mobility.
To highlight the value of this certification, we spoke with two of the newest CRP recipients, Nowzad Wadia and Lisa Scully, who shared their motivations, experiences, and advice for other professionals considering this prestigious achievement.
Nowzad Wadia, GMS-T, CRP, Senior Director of International Relocation Operations – India
What motivated you to pursue the CRP certification, and how do you believe it will impact your career in the talent mobility industry?
Being in the mobility industry for nearly 15 years, and having completed by GMS–T two years back, I was looking for an opportunity to further my learning goals and acquire knowledge of America’s relocation standards and processes. CRP answered this need for me. I certainly feel that the certification will positively impact my career in the global mobility industry.
How has the CRP certification process enhanced your understanding of the talent mobility field, and what specific skills or knowledge did you gain that you find most valuable in your current role?
While preparing for the CRP certification, I was exposed to the home sale part of the relocation specific to the domestic US. This would be valuable for me to expand my horizons to understand both international assignments and U.S. domestic.
Can you share any advice for professionals considering pursuing the CRP certification?
The mobility industry is still heavily U.S.-driven. So, anyone in the industry should have knowledge about U.S. domestic policies. This has been my biggest motivation for going through this certification.
Lisa Scully, Relocation and Referral Director, CENTURY 21 Advantage Realty
What motivated you to pursue the CRP certification, and how do you believe it will impact your career in the talent mobility industry?
We are a brand-new department, officially launched on 1 January 2024. After a review of our competitors, we identified where we could stand out. By earning the CRP, we would become the only brokerage in our area with the designation.
How has the CRP certification process enhanced your understanding of the talent mobility field, and what specific skills or knowledge did you gain that you find most valuable in your current role?
Having the CRP has allowed us to gain business opportunities we would not have had without the designation. It has also allowed me the opportunity to provide a higher level of service to our corporate clients.
Any advice for those considering the CRP certification?
Join the study groups. I participated in two different groups, CMARC and Austin Relocation Council. Both groups provided specific support that helped me to prepare for the exam.
A Bright Future for CRP Designees
With the growing complexity of talent mobility, the need for certified experts has never been greater. Congratulations to the newest CRP recipients on achieving this prestigious designation and for their dedication to advancing the mobility industry.
